Hello Everyone,
I hope your week is off to a great start. Praise God for this beautiful autumnal weather and to start the week with the message Pastor Barry gave us on Sunday.
Praise and glory to God for our group of Senior Saints!
So that we can support each other while we are living our month until our next meeting I have put together a brief summary of our last meeting:
Pastor Barry announced the good news that the Senior Saint group will continue. Pastor Ray and Pat will be missed. The new leadership was also announced. Gregg and I will be your new administrators while Roderick and Anita along with Duane and Marilyn will be there to support in music and sharing wisdom and guidance. It is an exciting time.
Music and Message from Roderick and Anita
Roderick and Anita led us in some soul moving hymns. A personal testimony from Anita brought home to us all the message that God goes before us and if He is for us who could be against us.
“Get Your Reward” Roderick’s message was one of how we are in an elevated position as seniors. Our position is one of encouragement that our longevity of life and experience has placed us in a responsible position to be an example and to carry our lives with dignity.
While it is important to let others see the Father in us, we also have a responsibility to require respect. In this expectation, we teach respect for ourselves and others. Also, through this example we show our younger counterparts that when troubles come their way there is someone they can turn to. Our example of Christ in us will show them how to manage life’s challenges. Thank You Rodrick.
The PB&J Project
We had a wonderful time of community making PB&J sandwiches. Lots of laughter and sharing of our opinions on fresh bread and how to spread peanut butter. It was a fun time.
The sandwiches were delivered and distributed last Saturday evening. The manager of the project was very grateful and told us that the sandwiches might be the only meal some of these people may get in a day.
Prayers and Praises
Prayer Requests:
Please pray for Rosemarie as she is having some heart issues and answers are needed.
Pastor Barry’s Father who is 90 and is having to deal with that hard decision to give up driving.
Bev is having a shoulder procedure this week.
Pat asked for prayers for Kerry, who had brain surgery and is waiting on the pathology report.
Please pray for all of the Senior Saints that are also dealing with health issues or other physical challenges. Pray for healing, peace, tenacity, and a spirit of faith and hope in our Lord Jesus and who is the Great Healer and best Comforter of All Time!!!!! Amen and Amen
Praises:
A Big Praise that Terri’s radiation is over and she is Cancer Free!!!! Also Praise for her husband he is done with colonoscopies for now!
Praise also for Pastor Barry, The latest scan shows No Kidney Stones!!!!
And a big Praise and thanks to God our loving Father, for the wisdom and testimonies of our Senior Saints.
