Just giving you a recap of our July get together
We were pleased to welcome a new guest this month. Welcome, Lee Plunkett!
Pam gave a wonderful testimony about a time when she wrestled with God.
It was a good story time hearing from you guys and the way that you study God’s Word and how you spend time with God, how you’ve gotten to know Jesus and how you live your lives in the Word.
Here are some of the things shared:
- Lee shared that he uses the John MacArthur study bible. It has a morning and an evening reading plan with commentary. (I do something similar with the NLT Life Application Study Bible.)
- Bev shared that she uses the Our Daily Bread devotion. If anyone is interested in receiving a hard copy let us know and we can get them for you.

- Sheli shared that she and her daughter read a passage of scripture and then read the commentaries for that passage on Biblehub.com, Bible Hub is also great for easy access to the different translations.
- I also shared that I am dwelling on an 8 verse stanza in Psalm 119 each week. I will read through it multiple times a day to get the message ingrained. Every Sunday I change to the next stanza. (Note: There are 22 stanzas. And all but 2 of the 176 verses reference God’s Word)

A Note on Voting
As we look ahead to the election on August 4th, let’s remember Jeremiah’s encouragement to “seek the welfare of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7) — voting is one small but meaningful way we do that for our families and community. Read also Romans 13:1-7 and 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
Prayer Requests
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
Please continue to pray for Bob and Pat Lasater.
Pray for God to heal broken relationships, strengthen restored relationships and that Jesus be lifted up in every relationship.
Pray that God’s hand will be on the upcoming election.
